Pink Print x Nicki’s Nude First Impression

The Nicki Minaj x Mac Cosmetics collection dropped in stores today! If you have been following and reading my blog then you know I have been saving to get the two limited edition lipsticks customized by Nicki herself!

“The Pink Print” named after Nicki’s second LP is an amplified cream lipstick, simply put it’s more opaque and cream non matte lipstick. Upon swatching, I knew this could be an everyday lipstick especially for the girls and guys that love a “no makeup makeup” look. The lipstick is a nudish mauve pink.

“Nicki’s Nude” is also an amplified cream lipstick and is also suitable for an everyday lipstick. Upon swatching it’s a nudish pink lipstick.

I tested both with and without liners. I am not a lip liner fan but can see myself wearing liner on days I just want a hint of color.

When Nicki Minaj created these two lipsticks it was obvious she wanted something she herself would wear. If you are a Nicki fan than you know she loves her nudish pink lips. These two lipsticks are VERY different from “Pink Friday”, which was also a pink but a very bright white pink that a lip liner was needed to wear! ( unfortunately for me someone stole my Pink Friday).

My first impression of both lipsticks is A+ I love that Nicki thought about lipsticks for everyday wear and she was thinking about all skintones! If you are fair to light, the lipsticks will appear more of a pink, medium to dark mauvy pink, and dark to deep dark more pink . I do suggest you wear a lip liner but for my skintone and MY opinion it was not needed, so a lip liner is truly optional.

What I have loved to see from the entire collection is the return of Pink Friday!! I know a lot of people including myself would have loved to get our hands back on that.

I do intend to collect most of the collection and add a few to my kit if it’s not sold. I’m impressed simply because with this collection everything is basically an everyday wear.

’90s Inspired Glam

My daughter’s school is doing a theme week and tomorrow she chose to do the “90s”. Since I won’t be awoke to Glam her over, we decided to do a makeup look that was the trend or style as we use to say.

In the ’90s the makeup wasn’t over the top, more of simple, yet beautiful. Earth tones with glossy lips was the style. So I made her over based upon how I some what wore my makeup in high school.

This look was quick, simple, yet modern.this was a 15 minute look for me I did not wear false lashes in school just a lot of Maybelline mascara and I did not wear liquid foundation just a Covergirl press powder also no highlight and no contour so I really modernize this look to be up to date but still pay homage to an era that was a best time to live the age before modern technology.

Primary Colors

Tonight’s makeup look was inspired by the primary colors. As a makeup artist or anyone in the beauty, fashion, and art profession knows that the primary colors are the start to making other colors. I decided to try something new, I have never mismatched my eye colors before so this was definitely fun. I’m also trying out a new foundation, contour, and highlight routine as well. I don’t know how to feel about this yet, but anything to save time and cut my full Glam face to 45 minutes per person.
