My FoTd: Spring Fever

Hey guys happy Monday!! This morning I went back to my local Mac Cosmetics store to put in an application to try to get on again ((for the 100th plus time) as a freelancer only to get the runaround again for the 100th plus time, my daughters feel it’s time for me to give up and continue just doing my own thing and I have to agree yes it’s time to give up lol

Well for my “interview” look I decided to do a spring look (honestly I had no idea what I was going to do this came out of the blue). Spring is almost here ( well in Louisiana we don’t know we might just go straight into summer🤷🏽‍♀️)

Well here’s the details. My skin is still acting crazy hopefully this week it will return to oily/combo. For Foundation I pulled out the old Mac Studio Finish Foundation. I primed with the Maybelline blur primer in my tzone and I moisturizer with Dermologica matte lotion. I put translucent powder in my tzone but will not on my nose the Foundation did not stick. For my eyes I primed with La colors concealer in “natural” and set it. I rotated between the Mac neutral palette and the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. My brows was the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow in “chocolate” and the Wet n Wild beauty brow palette. I also used the Wet n Wild liner for my waterline and the NYC liquid eye liner. I contoured with the rue 21 cream contour palette and set with the LA Colors contour duo. I used the Wet n Wild Photo finish press powder to set my Face. I highlighted in my tzone with the LA Girls concealer in yellow and set it with the NYX banana press powder. For blush I used an old Ulta Beauty blush and highlighter duo and to highlight I used Wet n Wild highlight in “Precious Petals” for my lips I used Wet n Wild Catsuit liquid lipstick in “Nudist Peach”. Everything was set with Mac Fix plus and Wet n Wild setting sprays. My lashes is Salon Perfect #614 and I used a Wet n Wild mascara. That’s it guys talk to you later byeeee!!

My Face of the Day

If you follow me on any of my social media pages then you know yesterday I celebrated the soon to be arrival of my first grandchild a girl ((yes I was a teen mom lol)

It was beautiful I even lived it on instagram.

The look I chose to wear to celebrate the occasion was a simple with a pop of color. My Face is going through a hormonal stage and plus I am trying to lose weight so my skin isn’t acting right and Louisiana bipolar weather isn’t helping the situation either.

The Foundation of choice was my L’Oréal Pro Infalliable Foundation. The pro matte version, this is a dupe of Mac’s Studio Foundation. I just love the formula and the coverage. I also used my Too Faced Sweet Peach palette ( my first impression  Will be on the next blog)

For my lips I chose to outline my lips with a Milani red lip liner and wear Tarte liquid lipstick in “Birthday Suit”( I received a Tarte mini deluxe sample with a blush for my birthday from Sephora). I also used my LA Colors contour and highlight duo (the first impression will be on another blog). The lashes that I wore are by Salon Perfect in #614 my favs!!

New LA Colors Products

LA colors has released some new products for 2017. I found their contouring palette and their bronzer at my local Family Dollar.

The contour palette contains a deep powder to contour. It is matte perfect for oily/combo skin, but the again, you should always contour with a matte powder for a soft natural contour. The highlight is sorta shimmery and is a slight champagne banana color it is very pretty. The price for this is $2 or $3

The bronzer is called “Radiant”. The middle has a pigmented golden sun perfect for medium to deep skin tones. The bronzer is matte but the highlight or sun is shimmer. This also retails for $2 or $3

These are great additions to your professional kit especially if you are starting off your freelancing career.

Wet n Wild Spring Collection

The Wet n Wild Spring Collection is finally here. I happened to find them at my local Walgreens (which is having a buy two get one free sale going on).

In the Collection there are two kabuki brushes, two lipstick palettes, two of each highlighters, and two of each eye shadow trios. I picked up the highlighters and one of each eye shadow trios. I passed on the kabuki brush and the lipstick palette, I simply was not interested.

The highlighters are beautiful, each one comes with a silver heart when combined together makes a pretty silverish color. The purple one is called “Lillac to Reality” and the pink is called “The Sweetest Bling”. In my opinion they will compliment every skin tone and they are pigmented.

The eye shadows are a trio. Only one has a matte which will make a great transition color for medium to medium dark skin tones and a great lid color for fair and dark skin tones.from left to right the trios names are:

💄”Will You Marina Me” is a shimmer trio with a beautiful brow bone color that can also double as a highlighter for medium to dark skin tones

💄 “Heart and Heavy” which is shimmer with hint of reflect glitter

💄”Hieroglyphic Heart” is the only trio that has the matte color which is a good transition color for medium to medium dark skin tones and a great lid color for fair to dark skin tones

In my opinion this Collection is pretty cool definitely great for Spring. I felt Wet n Wild should’ve released a few pastel color liquid lipsticks maybe two colorful mascaras, pastel blushes and eyeliners, but this Collection gets an A- it’s worth the buy.

My Opinion of the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation

Hello dolls I am sharing my everyday makeup look and giving my final thoughts on the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation.

Wet n Wild announced at the end of 2016, that they were adding more “Photo friendly” products to their line. If you follow them their instagram page then you might have saw the products on their Insta story. Wet n Wild added new foundations, press powders, liquid lipsticks, and newly cushion blushes, lipsticks, and highlighters, as well as new lip balms gel eyeliners, mascara and few other items.

The number one complaint among the Women of Color beauty community was that Wet n Wild was not releasing the newly released foundations or press powder to the chain stores such as Wal Mart, Target, etc. I was lucky enough to find my Shade at Walgreens (( since the release you can find the entire collection at just about all the chain stores I think that had to do with the area and the shipping times)

My Foundation color is “Desert Rose” and it matches really good. I have a very yellow undertone so this Foundation caters to it. It is medium to full coverage, I applied 2 coats using a Foundation brush and buffing it in with a beauty blender. I applied the Foundation at 6:00 am and removed it at 8:00 pm. If you are oily have your blot towels on hand, lol. I am oily but the Foundation held up. In my opinion, this Foundation Is very good and as you can see from the photos it is photo friendly. If you are like myself and is a Makeup Artist this is perfect for photos.

Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson

Hello dolls!!
How was everyone Valentine’s Day? I am single so I had a wonderful galentines day complete with a nice dinner and some wonderful gifts. I received the Viva Glam Taraji P. Henson lipstick and lipglass by Mac Cosmetics..I was super surprised it was on my wishlist. Before I get into my first impression, I want to remind you that every purchase of this lipstick or any other Viva Glam lipstick or lipgloss or glass goes to the Mac Aids Fund which helps with medicine, food, clothes etc for men, women, and children affected by the HIV or Aids virus.
Viva glam Taraji is a matte, pinkish red lipstick that compliments every skintone. I am a yellow undertone so it shows up on me as a reddish pink.
My first impression is i like it. I have not worn the lipstick alone, for Valentine’s look i decided to pair them together.
The lip glass is also a pinkish red that compliments every skintone. The lipglass has a sort of glittery undertone to it that makes it fun to wear. I think both would do good on their own but great together.
The lipstick was definitely long lasting i wore it for like 4 to 6 hours. I will definitely do another look for my YouTube video so be on the look out!
Dupes for the lipstick is
💋Wet n Wild “Cherry Picking” which is also matte but slightly darker
💋Revlon Cosmetics “Cherries In The Snow” which is a creme. I don’t know if Revlon still sells this lipstick though. The Wet n Wild one is a permanent among their line. “Cherries In The Snow” is also tad darker
I don’t wear lipglosses as much I am not a fan so i can’t give you any dupes but I would start with the Wet n Wild line first.
